Questions? Answers.

We are a cash-only practice. We find that this is the only way we can offer the kind of “concierge medicine” service you need to recover from severe tinnitus.  That being said, you can use your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) to pay for your treatment.

We often incorporate prescription medications into our treatment plan. However, up to 50% of our patients can substantially improve their tinnitus and are happy just using the non-medication treatments in our protocol. If you prefer not to use medications, we can accommodate you.

In certain cases, we recommend you get imaging studies of the hearing nerve. However, these are not required to move forward with treatment. Your insurance generally covers these studies, which would be done near your home.

You do not need an audiogram to get started on treatment. However, an audiogram is recommended for people with tinnitus. If it’s been more than a year since your last audiogram, we recommend you get one from a local provider and send the results to us.

Our program cost is $2600. Most people pay up front, but we can offer a payment plan on request and will meet you where you are in terms of financial need.

Yes! We are a medical clinic, and our services are eligible expenses under HFA/HSA programs.

We are proud to announce that our success rate is 85-90% in reducing the volume of tinnitus and resolving or nearly resolving the “bad” tinnitus days.

If you’re here, you’ve likely learned the hard way that there is no “quick fix” for tinnitus. Our program is based on advanced neuroscience designed to change the neural networks in your brain. While there are currently no “cures” for tinnitus, we are the best in the field in terms of transforming moderate-to-severe tinnitus into mild tinnitus, decreasing both tinnitus loudness and tinnitus distress.

Our program is the most comprehensive approach to treating tinnitus in existence. After 20 years of tinnitus research, Dr. Djalilian has discovered the reason tinnitus becomes loud and bothersome in people. Treating the process that causes the tinnitus to become loud and bothersome leads to significant improvement of the tinnitus to a point where it is not noticeable during the day. This requires addressing the multitude of triggers for tinnitus, using nutraceuticals and medications when needed, and using internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy and sound therapy.
Our chief medical advisor, Dr. Djalilian, has developed this treatment plan to help patients remotely worldwide. The visits with our providers can be performed via video, supplements are sent via mail, medication is sent to your pharmacy electronically, and cognitive behavioral therapy and sound therapy are delivered online.

We are a telehealth company so we are able to see patients all across the country. Currently, we serve patients in the following states: AR, CA, FL, GA, IN, KS, KY, MA, ME, MN, MT, NC, ND, OH, TX, WA, and WI.

The first 8 weeks of our program are the most intensive, and most of our patients will start seeing significant results after this period. The rest of the program is used to improve on these initial results so that you can achieve lasting tinnitus relief.

Yes! Our success rates prove that we can help tinnitus patients based on clinical results of the thousands of patients who have seen Dr. Djalilian at his academic practice center.

No! There has been tremendous progress in research on tinnitus in the last few years. We now understand that tinnitus becomes loud and bothersome due to processes in the brain. Dr. Djalilian has identified those causes and has been successfully treating tinnitus with this new treatment regimen. From the time a new treatment is discovered until it is practiced by 50% of physicians, it takes 17 years on average. Fortunately, you are finding out about this in the early stages. Dr. Djalilian is lecturing worldwide on the treatment of tinnitus and is writing a book on this novel treatment regimen.
If you have pulsatile tinnitus, we need to do an additional work-up and coordinate with your local ENT providers. There are many cases where we can significantly improve pulsatile tinnitus as the brain process that causes ringing tinnitus to get loud is the same as the one that causes pulsing tinnitus to become loud.

Yes! You have free access to the BeyondTinnitus online sound therapy platform as part of your program. Here, you can create customized sound therapy files and listen to them on your phone.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is an intervention to reduce problems related to stress and anxiety, which are significant triggers of tinnitus. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most effective ways to treat and control your brain’s reaction to the daily stressors that can worsen tinnitus. The internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy you will receive for free as part of the program is developed specifically for tinnitus by a large team of researchers at the University of California Irvine in collaboration with the United States Navy Hospital at Camp Pendleton. It has been found to reduce tinnitus significantly when combined with sound therapy.

Your primary provider at NeuroMed must be a licensed clinician in your state. Dr. Djalilian has trained the providers at NeuroMed, so the treatment you receive will be the exact same as what you would receive under his care. If you desire, you can see Dr. Djalilian on a second opinion basis (additional fee applies), where he can make recommendations. Still, he would be unable to treat you or prescribe medications due to state licensing regulations. Your provider at NeuroMed would then implement those recommendations.
