At NeuroMed, we incorporate the principles of wellness coaching into your visits. You healthcare provider will still perform necessary adjustments to your medications during these visits, but the main thrust of the visit is to empower you to succeed in the program.
What is wellness coaching and what makes it different from a regular medical visit? Two disntictive components of wellness coaching are the frequency of visits and the interactional structure of the visit.
For the first feature, we believe regular visits in the initial part of the program is critical in helping you succeed. During your first 8 weeks, you will meet with your provider biweekly. Although these are health care visits, their frequency is designed to provide you with critical support during this intensive phase of the program.
The interactional structure of these visits are also designed to be like wellness coaching. The questions your provider will ask are focussed on how you can use your own internal resources to improve and stay compliant with the program.
