Tinnitus starts in the hearing system, but what makes it loud and intrusive is something different—a brain process that is treatable.
If you're ready to find out what's driving your tinnitus, the first step is taking our assessment.
NeuroMed’s Tinnitus Severity Assessment™ is based on validated clinical tools used to identify brain-based tinnitus. It shows you the impact of your tinnitus and the reasons why it is loud and out of control.
Brain Inflammation and Brain Sensitivity: Low-grade inflammation makes your brain hypersensitive—so the tinnitus sound gets amplified, even if the original signal is faint.
Fight-or-Flight Activation: That amplified sound triggers your brain’s alarm system—turning tinnitus into something urgent, emotional, and impossible to tune out.
Attention Lock-in From Brain Rewiring: The fight-or-flight response causes your brain to prioritize tinnitus, pushing it to the front of your awareness. That’s why you can’t “just ignore it.”

Creator of the NeuroMed Tinnitus Rehabilitation Program and Tinnitus Severity Assessment™
Dr. Hamid Djalilian
Dr. Djalilian is an internationally recognized expert with more than 20 years of experience in the treatment of tinnitus and brain sensitivity disorders and is currently the Chief Medical Advisor for NeuroMed Tinnitus Care.
Renowned for his tinnitus expertise and groundbreaking clinical protocols to treat tinnitus, Dr. Djalilian led his team at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to a fundamental discovery:
Tinnitus is a brain sensitivity problem, not just an ear problem.
This discovery ushered in the development of an all-new protocol for the treatment of tinnitus, validated by formal clinical trials at UCI and bringing relief to close to 90% of those who’ve completed it. By developing this treatment, patients who had been brushed off by other medical experts were finally finding relief.
Based on this research, Dr. Djalilian and his team developed the Tinnitus Severity Assessment™ to reveal the impact tinnitus has on the daily lives of tinnitus sufferers, assess how to best help them find relief, and prepare them to commit to their recovery.
After much search I came across NeuroMed team whose compassion and kindness sold me on the program. My Tinnitus is much easier to be with and it disappears at times and I now aware of all the triggers that brings it back for me. Appreciate and grateful for them being there and have a deep respect to the Dr. with his findings, approach and his team.
“I came into Neuromed without having high expectations, but to my surprise the program actually helped lower my Tinnitus symptoms significantly through a combination of diet, sound therapy, CBT, and medication. While it takes a lot of work on one's own part, i can still highly recommend this program.”
“After both my family doctor and ENT doctor told me that there is nothing they can do to help my tinnitus problem, I became more anxious and felt helpless… I was so fortunate to find the NeuroMed program.”
“My tinnitus was unbearable; off the scale. Thankfully I found NeuroMed and my results were exceptional. Communication was excellent and they were flexible in fitting appointments in to my schedule. The online resources, Sound Therapy, the mediation and yes the medications were a great, holistic approach to greatly improving my symptoms. If you are suffering from tinnitus, please, give NeuroMed a try!
“So I would definitely recommend NeuroMed, 100% I would say. It has been a really great experience just because I feel like it has been able to help me step away and just feel freedom again, and I have my life back. It's just worth it.”
