I came across the Neuromed site, listened to the introductory video, and after talking with John decided to give this a try, and I am so glad I did.
I know that I won’t ever be free from the ringing in my ears, but I have the tools (meds, nutritional tips, mental health with meditation, sound therapy, etc) to go days without even thinking about the ringing in my ears.
I would recommend this program if you are willing to put in the time. Thank you to everyone that has helped me make life happier.
I suffered an acoustic trauma two years ago in a night club and went home with lasting bilateral tinnitus and right-ear hyperacusis.
All at age 30.
Both conditions are very stubborn, difficult to treat, and have had a negative impact on my quality of life.
I avoid the concerts and crowded bars and venues I once loved because I feel very physically uncomfortable in them these days, and/or experience a worsening of my symptoms and a “hangover from sound.”
I waited months to see a neurotologist at Johns Hopkins. In a 15-minute appointment, the doctor inspected my eardrum before recommending that I wear ear plugs, which I was already doing.
Ear plugs would relieve the right ear hyperacusis but exacerbate the ringing sound in my head.
They also caused my sound tolerance to lower further than I thought possible.
I couldn’t win.
I found out about Neuromed at a time when I felt defeated and was suffering greatly.
I began to develop migraine around this same time, with shoulder and neck pain, facial pain on the right side of my head, light sensitivity and floaters in my vision.
Unlike many ENTs who dismiss these conditions or know nothing about them, Dr. Djalilian’s Neuromed team helped me connect the dots.
I likely suffered a peripheral neural injury at that night club, and in its wake suffered a cascade of inflammation and some nasty neurological effects.
The Neuromed team takes the time to address the full picture, focusing on sleep, nutrition, sound therapy, and both preventative and rescue medications to help manage difficult episodes and flare-ups.
Their thoughtful, patient-centered care has made a real difference for me. I’m grateful to have found a team that actually understands and takes tinnitus seriously. The program has also made it super convenient to receive treatment virtually in Texas.
While I and many patients anxiously await a cure for hearing loss and related auditory conditions like tinnitus and hyperacusis, I am comforted that Dr. Djalilian is working behind the scenes on the research while his Neuromed Clinic offers relief and hope for those suffering.
Following several days of researching on the internet, I was so fortunate to find the NeuroMed program.
I simply followed the guidance of this well-structured program, healthy diet/food supplement, CBT, and sound therapy. I am much better now knowing how to manage my tinnitus. My tinnitus sound now gets to very low level sometime even down to zero!!
Special thanks to Maria, who has done an outstanding job to work with me to adjust the food supplements, identify triggers, to provide me with the important diet information, yoga, and meditation and etc..
Also, I would like to thank John for helping me understand the genesis of tinnitus, eliminating my fear, proving me with incredibly helpful sound files, and being always available for my questions.

NeuroMed is a specialty telehealth rehabilitation program for people with complex, treatment-resistant tinnitus. Rather than focusing on masking or coping strategies, NeuroMed uses a multimodal medical approach designed to address the neurological processes that drive tinnitus to become loud, reactive, and difficult to control.
Treatment plans are individualized and may include prescription medication, sound therapy, cognitive retraining, sleep optimization, and structured neurological rehabilitation — coordinated across a 20-week program.
It's a 40-minute, one-on-one conversation with a member of our clinical intake team — focused entirely on understanding your case. We'll review your assessment results, discuss your symptoms and history, talk through treatments you've already tried, and explain what the NeuroMed approach would look like for someone with your pattern.
The goal is not pressure. The goal is clarity.
No. The Clinical Review Call is completely free of charge, and there is no obligation to move forward afterward.
The purpose of the call is to better understand your symptoms, explain how the NeuroMed approach works, answer your questions, and help determine whether this type of structured neurological rehabilitation is appropriate for your situation. Many patients tell us the call itself is the first time they have felt their condition was being looked at through a more complete neurological framework.
Every case is different, and we do not believe in making promises that cannot be applied honestly across all patients.
What we can say is that patients who engage fully with the program regularly experience meaningful improvements in areas such as:
- Tinnitus loudness and severity
- Sound sensitivity and reactivity
- Sleep quality
- Emotional distress and anxiety
- Concentration and cognitive function
- Overall day-to-day quality of life
Some patients notice meaningful changes within the first several weeks, while others improve more gradually over time. Neurological rehabilitation is rarely linear, and progress often builds incrementally before becoming more stable and durable.
The NeuroMed program was designed from the ground up as a telehealth-based rehabilitation program, not adapted from a traditional in-person clinic model.
Tinnitus rehabilitation depends heavily on:
- Longitudinal symptom tracking
- Ongoing treatment adjustments
- Consistent coaching and follow-up
- Sleep and nervous system regulation
- Structured rehabilitation delivered over time
Telehealth is uniquely well-suited to providing that kind of continuity.
Practically, this means:
- No travel or waiting rooms
- Secure video appointments from home
- Medications sent electronically to your local pharmacy
- Supplements and treatment materials shipped directly to you
- Educational modules, coaching, and sound therapy tools accessible remotely
For a condition that affects daily life continuously, care that fits into your life rather than constantly interrupting it is often a significant advantage.
Dr. Hamid Djalilian does not personally provide patient care through NeuroMed.
As Chief Medical Advisor, his role is scientific oversight, protocol development, and provider education, helping ensure that the clinical frameworks used within the program reflect the evidence-based approaches he has developed and refined over two decades of academic practice and research.
Medical care for NeuroMed participants is provided by licensed healthcare professionals through independent clinical practices. These clinicians are trained in evidence-based tinnitus management protocols developed by Hamid Djalilian, allowing NeuroMed and Dr. Djalilian to facilitate access to advanced medical care without participating in direct patient treatment.
NeuroMed operates independently and is not affiliated with or run by the University of California, Irvine. Academic titles and institutional affiliations are shared for background and transparency, not because those institutions are involved in NeuroMed’s programs or services.
These are not generalists. They are clinicians selected for their experience with complex tinnitus and related neurological conditions, personally trained in Dr. Djalilian’s treatment frameworks, and in ongoing communication with him regarding the clinical approaches used within the program.
Physicians around the country refer some of their most difficult tinnitus cases to NeuroMed because this level of coordinated neurological rehabilitation is rarely available in standard clinical settings.
NeuroMed is a specialty neurological rehabilitation program designed for patients with complex, treatment-resistant tinnitus and related auditory disorders. Because the program involves ongoing medical management, structured rehabilitation, and a high level of individualized support, it operates outside of the traditional insurance-based care model.

- 15+ telehealth visits with licensed clinical providers
- Prescription medication and nutraceutical therapy
- Customized sound therapy
- Tinnitus-specific cognitive behavioral therapy
- Functional medicine and lifestyle coaching
- Sleep and nervous system optimization
- AI-assisted protocol support
- Unlimited provider access and concierge-level support
